Dear business friend,

Two business owners went to work one morning. They both had similar training and experience. They both had similar businesses. Same approximate square footage.  Similar  locations,  almost across the street from each other.  Both appealed to the same customer base.

Yet one business owner was constantly stressed and dreaded going to work.  While the other couldn't wait to open up in the morning.

Maybe you don't realize it but  almost everybody  communicates in what I like to call easy speak. Basically, picture your self having a conversation with a friend over a casual drink.  That's easy speak.

Nobody talks to you in proper English grammatical style.  Even if they did you'd likely wonder what the heck they were talking about.  Think about it, when you order something in a restaurant or pick up the phone you just speak naturally.  You may even use some business  jargon or local slang to get your point across.

Shakespeare may have been a great manipulator of the English language, but if you had to speak like that every day you would probably go crazy.

Let's face it what you say and what people hear are generally not the same.  If you're talking baseball and their hearing golf then your communication falls on deaf ears.  Most folks hear selectively.  It's a good point to remember.

Let's face it, if you're not using the right words in the right sequence...you're flushing your marketing dollars down the toilet.

So enough already.
